IDEtool ?

Hallo

 

Bei einem Bekannten hat sich auf der WIN2000 prof. maschine

ein IDEtool eingenistet und im Autostart vorhanden.

Er selber meinte, dies nicht installiert zu haben.

 

Für was ist es gut ?

Soll ich lieber deinstallieren ?

Da muss man aber vermutlich manuell und über registry deinstallieren.

Unter Systemsteuerung / Software habe keinen deinstallation

Eintrag gesehen.

IDEtool ist unter /Start/Programm Files/IDETOOL

installiert.

dort sind 3 files vorhanden:

IDETOOL.EXE gehört zum BUSMASTER-Treiber für den Chipsatz VT82C580VP oder nachfolgende. Der installiert sich nicht von alleine, sondern muss bei der Installation/beim Update der Treiber eingespielt worden sein.

 

Via schreibt dazu folgendes:

 

Limitation

1.Display the IDE devices with a ¡§SCSI¡¨ word head

- Win2000 system supports the third party IDE drivers as a fake SCSI miniport driver. No wonder, even the device is a ATA/ATAPI device she will add a head mark ¡§SCSI¡¨ before the device model name so that the user will misunderstand why the displayed device type is not identical to what he have.

This limitation will not have any side effect to end user.

 

Also eigentlich nichts, was man befürchten sollte (Virus/Trojaner)
